Ocean County Mall Announces June 21 Opening of H&M

Ribbon cutting at noon

Ocean County's first H&M store is planning a noon opening June 21, hoping to drum up fanfare for the clothing retailer's arrival in the .

Simon Properties, the manager of the Ocean County Mall, announced the fashion-centric store will open with a ribbon cutting. The first 100 shoppers in line will receive a special shopping pass that could be worth up to $300. The grand opening will feature a DJ spinning tunes in the store, known for its right-now fashions at deep discounts.

H&M has 200 locations in the United States, and the retailer is known for its "fast fashion" concept, meaning looks quickly grabbed from the runway at much lower prices.

The store is next to Old Navy in the Ocean County Mall, sitting in 17,000 square-feet of recently renovated space.

H&M's opening coincides with the reopening of a fully remodeled Old Navy in the JC Penney wing of the Ocean County Mall, according to Simon officials.

That entire side of the wing has been renovated to add H&M and reconfigure Old Navy. The fully remodeled Old Navy, encompassing 16,000 square feet,  has been open throughout the construction.

According to H&M, the Swedish-based company has more than 2,300 locations around the world. That includes stores at the Freehold Raceway Mall and Monmouth Mall, and 10 other New Jersey locations.
