Prudential Fox & Roach Acquires Ocean City Realty

The real estate acquisition is the largest ever in Ocean City.

Prudential Fox & Roach Realtors acquired Academy Real Estate on Ninth Street and West Avenue earlier this year, and as of last night, two of most dominant real estate companies in Ocean City have come together.

It is my pleasure to announce the acquisition of Ocean City Realty by Prudential Fox & Roach. This brings together two of the top four agencies on the island, adding to Prudential's rental base, extremely expanding sign presence, and bringing into the Prudential family many more highly successful agents.

This merger occurred late yesterday and is effective immediately. Prudential signs will be going up onto OC Realty's 34th Street building later this afternoon.

The addition of the Ocean City Realty office adds to Prudential's already leading market share. This now creates one agency that has either sold or participated in the sale of 52 percent of the Ocean City sale transactions thus far for the year.

We are very excited to offer our existing client base so many more great agents within our own company - this will bring so much more exposure, marketing & many more Buyer's eyes and ears to Prudential listings.

"The real estate acquisition is the largest ever in Ocean City" Prudential's acquisition of Hager Realty a few years back was much bigger.

Duffer, you are right. I guess it does read that way. In the turn of 2004/2005 Prudential Fox & Roach purchased Hager's business which left them with 6 offices of agents at the top of the market. What I mean by the largest acquisition is "within Ocean City" - one Ocean City agency buying out another Ocean City agency also now leaving Prudential with the "largest market share."

Best wishes to all involved.
