Grow a Dream - Sandy Spring Project - Community effort to provide Dune grasses and other indigenous plants for the Barrier Island.
Many youths groups ask how they can help. I think this would be a great project for all Boy/Girl Scouts, Teams, Church youth groups, etc.
To grow from seed, new plantings for the Barriwer Island - Spring 2013!
Asking groups to grow from seeds - dune grasses, veggies, flowers, etc. Great school, TEAM, Boy/Girl Scout project, Church youth groups. A project for all to contribute!
So we can replant the Barrier Island in Spring (Anticipated Day - May 4th & 5th) I will post a video to show how to grow seeds. Save your gift wrap tubes, empty toilet paper rolls and paper towel rolls. We will plant the seeds in them and they will compost nicely!
This is a VERY IMPORTANT project as most vegetation has washed away! *We will supply a list shortly of the plants indigenous to the Ortley Beach and surrounding areas
Sandy washed away alot of our greenery and flowers and WE WANT THEM BACK!
