Grand Jury Hands Down Robbery Indictments

Ocean County grand jury indictments week ending April 1

Two Toms River men and one from Beachwood are accused of robbery and theft in an indictment returned by an Ocean County grand jury last week.

Damian Gilsey, 18, of Beach Avenue, Beachwood, and Christopher J. Beckett, 19, of Rosewood Drive, along with Zachary G. Maguire of Cedarwood Drive, both of Toms River, are accused of robbing Armando Sala and Jose Andrade on Nov. 27 in Toms River.

They are also accused of stealing Sala’s wallet, cellphone, cash and a paycheck. Gilsey is being held in the Ocean County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bail. Beckett and Maguire are each free on $50,000 bail with the condition they have no contact with the alleged victims.

Also indicted last week, according to court records:

  • Philip M. Bender, 31, of Longboat Avenue, Beachwood, is charged by the grand jury with robbing Jason Blalack on Feb. 5 in Lacey Township. He is free on $35,000 bail.

Robert R. Scott, 39, and Rebecca J. Scott, 31, both of Hemlock Drive, Lanoka Harbor, are accused of having a two vacuums stolen from a Target store in Brick on Nov. 30 and shoplifting the vacuums. She is also accused of heroin possession.

  • Garrett K. Tromsdorff, 28, of Conway, S.C., is accused of resisting arrest in Point Pleasant on Aug. 21 and an aggravated assault on Lt. Robert Lokerson. He is also charged with obstructing a police investigation of a crime.

Salvatore Fucci, 48, of Hillside Drive, Toms River, and Benjamin Fracasso, 42, of Maxim Drive, Forked River, are charged with using a counterfeit Toms River Parking Authority permit on four occasions between Jan. 14 and Feb. 14 in Toms River.

  • Thomas Wartnaby,  23, of Van Sant Avenue, Island Heights, and Brandon Pascarella, 23, of Mallard Road, Bayville, are charged with having a Yamaha motorcycle and tires and rims stolen from Sean Carter between Oct. 31 and Nov. 3 in Toms River.

Antonio A. Dasilva-Vieira, 42, of Sandalwood Drive, Bayville, charged with eluding Toms River Ptl. Michael  Gallipoli on Oct. 16, having a .32 caliber pistol, and having the gun despite a Morris County robbery conviction.

  • Anna Marie Seufert, 20, of East Granada Drive, Brick, accused of stealing a woman’s jewelry between Sept. 10-23 in South Toms River, and a man’s jewelry in Toms River on Oct. 20.

Janine Mezger, 28, of Clairmore Avenue, Lanoka Harbor, charged with forging and passing a check and a withdrawal slip on Aug 4 and 5 at at TD Bank branch in Manchester Township.

  • Michael E. Mennicucci, 25, of Lockhart Street, Toms River, charged with breaking into a Chevrolet Suburban June 5 in Manchester and stealing glasses, sunglasses and an IPOD Nano.

Michelle L. Kusch, 44, of  Deptfort, accused of stealing Percocet pills from Crestwood Manor in Manchester Township between April 1 and Oct. 1. She accused of having the pills during the same time.

  • Carolyn J. Mulrain, 28, of Eleventh Avenue, Toms River, charged with stealing numerous pieces of jewelry from two women in Manchester Township between Oct. 15-25.

Donato A. Jensen, 23, of Sixth Avenue, Ortley Beach, charged with an aggravated assault on James Meehan in Lacey on Sept. 23, possession of a spring-loaded air soft pistol for an illegal purpose, pointing the pistol at Meehan, and giving false information to police. In a separate indictment Jensen is accused of stealing metal tier storage carts from the Target store in Toms River on Jan. 2.
