Question for Toms River - how come the town to the north of Orley Beach - Lavalette - is allowed to move back into their homes, and the town to the south - Seaside Heights - is now allowing open access to everyone (whether they live there or not) but Ortley is still on this restrictive schedule? I've yet to hear a good reason for this. Wonder if the media will ever wake up to abuse of power and report on it?

I would like to know that answer also

Read the tomsrivertownship.org web site and you can hear the wining excuses from the politicians and control freaks in TR. It is true Ortley got hit harder than most because they failed to maintain the dunes, electing to have more space for beach goers and less difficulty accessing the beach. They failed to remember 1962 or the fact that Cranberry Inlet was an Inlet and nature has a way of getting its' way. Go ahead and read the township web site, it's like two young children arguing who has the biggest booboo.
