POLICE REPORT: Two Arrested For Possessing "Toxic" Chemicals

Two women were arrested Monday night for possessing toxic chemicals, police said.

At 5:30 p.m. on Monday night, Toms River police responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle at Walgreens, at Hooper and Church roads.

The two women were then arrested for "huffing."

Jennifer Colins of Cranbury and Elizabeth Derosa, 27, Cape May Court House were charged with possession of toxic chemicals, police said. They were released on summons.

Officers recovered four containers of Maxell Blast Away Mailto purpose duster from their vehicle.

Police are investigating criminal mischief affecting at least four mailboxes on Alfred Lane, police said.

At 2:30 a.m. on Tuesday, a home security system showed three teenage males - two wearing grey hooded sweatshirts and one wearing a black one - damaging mailboxes.

A 17-year-old male juvenile was charged Tuesday with burglarizing and stealing from a vehicle in Briar Knolls, and one in the Fairways community parking lot, police said.

Toms River Police responded to the Briar Knoll community off Route 166  Tuesday morning after a man was observed entering vehicles in the parking lot, police said.

Around 1 a.m., K-9 Officer Art Pennell located a juvenile suspect a short time later on Royal Oaks drive, near Bay Lea Road.
