Two events that had been scheduled in Seaside Heights this weekend, including the fourth annual Boy Scouts Camporee and the Heights festival will take place, according to a Facebook update from the Seaside Heights business Improvement District.
"We want to end with a note of appreciation and a warm thank you to all of the first responders, for their bravery and dedication," the Facebook status said.
Friday evening's New Heights Festival activities, which would've included a bonfire and musical performances, have been canceled, officials said.
The status addressed the fact that officials are looking forward to moving forward with the 2013 all season, despite the fire at Funtown.
Along the Seaside Heights boardwalk today, many gathered to view what remained of the boardwalk in Seaside Park. A six-block stretch from Hamilton to Lincoln remained closed as of about 3 o'clock today.
