Toms River Braces for Irene [PHOTOS]

Shops close, plywood boards windows as residents prepare

Business as far west as Northampton Boulevard on Route 37 showed signs of preparation for Hurricane Irene.

Toms River businesses and homes took to preparing for the storm, but roadways remained quiet at 11 a.m. Saturday.

Fischer Boulevard showed normal traffic flow, as did Hooper Avenue and Route 37 at 11 a.m.
