Toms River Man Arrested In Connection With Car Theft

The Buick Enclave, which belonged to Pelican Custom Built Pools in Morris County, was stolen from Spring Lake, according to police

A Toms River man was one of two people arrested this week in Holmdel after police found they were allegedly operating a stolen car.

Douglas Samuels, 49, of Toms River and Brad Sorrentino, 29, of Neptune were arrested in connection with the crime.

The Buick Enclave, which belonged to Pelican Custom Built Pools in Morris County, was stolen from Spring Lake, according to police. 

Sorrentino was also allegedly found in possession of the drug Gabapentin without a prescription, police said.

Samuels was charged with knowingly receiving stolen property and is being held in the Monmouth County jail in lieu of $35,000 bail.

Sorrentino was charged with knowingly receiving stolen property and knowingly possessing a prescription drug in the amount of five or more dosage units and is being held in lieu of $35,000 bail.
