As of 12:28 p.m., traffic is at a standstill on southbound side of the Garden State Parkway, at mile 88, heading toward the Toms River Toll Plaza, according to the New Jersey Turnpike Authority.
Traffic northbound is traveling at a regular pace, an eyewitness said.
Officials with the Turnpike Authority said the delay is due to ongoing roadwork.
