2014 Year of Healing for Women

2014 has been designated the Year

of Healing for Women
by the Ocean County Women’s Connection.   Are you looking for hope, empowerment, and

encouragement?  Join us as we embark on
the first of six events.

Today, there
are too many women, who are hurting and lonely.

More than ever they are working full-time to help provide for their

families and they don’t have the hours or finances to take time for themselves.  They are pulled in every direction with aging

parents, their children’s activities, and household responsibilities.  In today’s economy, it is more and more
difficult to make ends meet.  And here in

Ocean County in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, employment is a privilege as well as a hardship at the same time.
Where can these women find hope?  That
is at the heart of Ocean County Women’s Connection.  It is our desire to encourage and uplift
women, giving them the opportunity to experience God’s saving grace and hope.

OCWC is the
local group of Stonecroft Inc, an international ministry dedicated to
connecting women to each other, their community and God.  This is accomplished in a variety of ways:
monthly events where we invite local owners to present their businesses and
encourage community awareness, Stonecroft Speakers who share their personal
story about how God has changed their lives, home Bible Studies for those
desiring to learn about God’s love, and Prayer Connections where we get
together to pray with each other and for the needs of others.

I personally
have been a part of OCWC for over 23 years and wouldn’t trade the fellowship
and friendships I have made over the years for anything in the world.  During the past 23 years there have been
circumstances in my life that I do not think I could have gotten through
without the support and encouragement of these women. OCWC has been a blessing

in my life. Through the prayer connections and Bible Studies I have learned

that there is love and hope available to me.

Following
are the events for 2014.

April 17, 2014- “Beauty in Bloom
Party”
Jamie and Tara work with girls of all ages to
help build confidence and self esteem by reminding them what really matters;
true beauty comes from the inside. Makeup, hairstyles and fashion are fun, but
that's not what makes you beautiful.  Real

beauty comes from knowing that changing the outside doesn't change who you are
on the inside. Confidence comes from knowing and loving who you are, just as
you are.  When you have a Beauty in Bloom event you truly

are making a difference in a girl's life. She will leave the party feeling

secure in whom she is, confident about what she can do and she will have a

boost in self esteem that will last a lifetime.
