Beginner Level II Yoga Class

This class continues to strengthen the introductory work done in a Beginner Level I class. Foundation in asana (yoga pose), flexibility, strength and balance are emphasized, as are alignment, sequence, quietude, and breath work. This is a more active class than a Beginner Level I. It does not include major inversions or arm balances. Variations are provided. A sample of postures you might work on in this class include deeper understanding of Warriors I, II and III, Triangle, and other basic asana. Every class provides a healthy does of philosophy, breathwork, meditation and relaxation. Some classes include chanting. For absolute beginner students it is recommended that you attend several Beginner Level I classes to build a strong understanding of the basic principles of yoga practice. This class is also appropriate for more experienced yogis who would like to re-visit with the fundamental principles of alignment and yoga.
