JERSEY SHORE RESIDENTS TO GATHER AT VFW POST 8867 FOR TOWN HALL MEETING

Hosted by the Institute of Defensive Building Practices and Sponsored by the VFW Post 8867; the table has been set for a Town Hall meeting focused on rebuilding the Jersey Shore

WHAT: VFW Post 8867 and Local Jersey Shore Residents to host a Town Hall Meeting focused on education and insight for those looking to rebuild in the wake of Hurricane Sandy.

Building professionals, local Leadership, and concerned residents will come together in this open forum for an educational presentation and open discussion about cost-effective solutions and defensive building practices that will enable the residents of the Jersey Shore to rebuild their homes and communities stronger than ever.

During the Town Hall meeting, there will be opportunities for attendees to speak directly to experienced Building Professionals; learn about the rebuilding process and challenges currently being faced by residents across the Tri-State area; and receive engineering and building planning insight comprised of the newest in building technology and defensive building practices.

Kicking of the Town Hall Meeting – “Rebuilding the Jersey Shore” – will be Keynote Speaker, Mr. Steve Conboy, Chief Executive Officer & President of Eco Building Products, Inc. Mr. Conboy is a Long Island (NY) native with over 35 years of experience in the construction framing and lumber industry. Skilled, knowledgeable and well-versed in all matter of things pertaining to residential building and defensive building practices, Mr. Conboy has joined forces with local residents as an ally and advocate for change during this time of uncertainty.

WHY: Thousands of homes were damaged and destroyed during the severe flooding, high-winds and rains associated with Hurricane Sandy, leaving  New York and New Jersey
residents disenfranchised, displaced and dispossessed. In our experience in dealing with Local Authorities, Building Departments and FEMA; we’ve come to realize there is a lack of awareness about the newest engineering, defensive
building practices and applications, and we hope to shed the light on plans to rebuild these communities. For those
with little insurance, the wrong type of coverage, or the differences between insurance company’s adjuster opinions; this Town Hall is for you as well. This open forum is about education and the restoration of hope for anyone and everyone able to attend, so that no family is left behind or forgotten because of the cost to rebuild or the lack of the right type of insurance.

Great story! Glad to hear your on your way back. Also happy to see someone else noticing that inRead More some places it still looks like Sandy hit yesterday. Some mayors might consider that "complaining".
