Two Americas Tour: with authors Ethan Casey and Bill Steigerwald

In
2010, Bill Steigerwald grabbed his copy of John Steinbeck’s Travels with Charley and set out, alone,
to follow the in the footsteps of the famed author and chronicle the changes America
has seen in the 50 years since the publishing of Charley.  Bill learned much
about the current American landscape, but he also found that much of Steinbeck’s
supposed biographical account is, indeed, a work of fiction.  His discoveries are detailed in his new book,
Dogging Steinbeck.

During
the 2012 election season, Ethan Casey set out on an 18,000 mile clockwise trip
around the country looking to experience the whole of present-day America.  “The purpose of the trip was to see today’s
America for myself as a traveling reporter in as much of its variety, confusion
and potential as I could…”  Home Free:
An American Road Trip
is the result of this journey.

Both
authors will be at the Toms River branch of the Ocean County Library on
Wednesday, September 25th 2013 @ 7:00pm to discuss and recount their
