NEW JERSEY is an INDEPENDENT STATE - here are the facts...

The REAL numbers from the Primary, and what they mean.

FACT:

As of 5/2012, there were 5,271,837 voters registered in the State of New Jersey
= 60% of the total population.

FACT:

Of that total, 2,491,064 (47.25%) registered as "unaffiliated" (Independent).

This means that;

a) they endorse neither of the so-called "major" parties, and

b) they are specifically excluded from voting in the State-funded primary elections held by these same so-called "major" parties.

Of the remainder, there are 1,719,729 registered Democrats (32.62%), and 1,057,855 (20.06%) registered Republicans, with 3100 "OTHER" (Libertarian, etc., 0.0005%)

If the Republican Voters going to the primary only polled just under 8% of the ballots cast in the 2011 Election for NJ Assembly (The Standard for "Major Party" Status and it's <unconstitutional> privileges and perks, such as a State-funded primary election, is 10%), then they only demonstrated a following in NJ of 19.3% OF THEIR OWN REGISTERED VOTERS willing to SHOW UP for a primary.

...and yet WOBM excludes the Independent Candidates from tonight's debate at OCEAN COUNTY COLLEGE because we "don't demonstrate 15% or more in Community Support."

The reality is, just like the newspapers, we independents don't spend millions in their advertising department...nor would we need to next time, if we won.  If you're reading this - you prove my point.

Oh, and the Democrats only polled 15.67% of their own registered voters, even less community support than the Republicans, and squeaked by the 10% figure by less than 3000 votes.  (Mr. Menendez, you owe Bill Pascrell a "solid" for fighting you and Rothman in Hudson County, or you would have fallen at least as far short as the Republicans)

What are those figures as percentages of the Registered Voters in NJ?

The Democrats had 5.11 Percent of the Total Registered Voters actually cast a ballot in their primary election in June.

The Republicans had only 3.87 Percent of the Total Registered Voters actually cast a ballot in THEIR primary election in June.

This is not a skewed phone poll from among registered Democrats and Republicans, asked

"of the 26 letters in the alphabet, do you like "A" or "B" better?"

These are the HARD numbers.  As John Adams said "Facts are stubborn things..."

Both Parties have broken faith with "We, the People".
