College Students Perform at 'Laugh for a Cure' Leukemia Fundraiser

"Laugh for a Cure" fundraiser

Ocean County College's Speech and Theater Club held its spring semester fundraiser for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Association, "Laugh for a Cure."

Students leant their talents to short skits, one-act plays, improv acts and more, and the admission price and an item auction helped raised funds for this worthy organization.

The club members had a great time, especially in the second half, when the agenda was on improvisational games such as you'd see on "Who's Line Is It Anyway?" The huge cast pretended to be super heroes, among other things, and throughout the night had to mostly describe and act out crazy scenarios as shouted out from the audience.

The first half featured some funny skits and one-act plays performed by OCC students. I performed my magic, comedy and sideshow routine to open the second half, and then joined the improv cast for the remainder of the show.

The show was April 26 in the Black Box Theater on the OCC main campus. The club is now winding down for the spring semester, so here is the club's facebook page to learn more about the club and the fall semester, etc.

As for me, my next show is May 16 at South Street Magic in Philadelphia. Check that out here.

Congratulations to the club on a great show for a great cause. Here is a cast picture from that night!
