Benefit For Daniel Inglis Sr. On For Saturday At Forked River House

by Patricia A. Miller

Daniel Inglis Sr. has given a lot to the community that is Lacey Township. Now his family and friends are asking residents to return the favor.

Inglis - a captain in the Lanoka Harbor Fire Company - suffered severe head injuries in February while on his "truck duty" at the firehouse. Inglis was alone in the truck bay when he was injured.

Dan Inglis came home from the hospital on March 28. But he has a long road ahead of him. A benefit - "Losing Is Not An Option" - will be held for him on Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Forked River House on Route 9 North.

Tickets are $20. All proceeds go to the Dan Inglis Fund. The event features door prizes, 50/50s, a DJ, an all-you-can-eat buffet and a cash bar.

For tickets call Rachel at 609-618-2637 or Jessica at 908-910-0757. Tickets will also be sold at the door.

The accident was the second blow for the family in less than two years. Their police officer son Daniel Jr., died in January of 2013 of injuries that he suffered when he was paralyzed in a car accident in late 2011.
