SANDY POLL: How Are You Faring?

A year after the most destructive storm in the Shore's history hit the coastline, many are still suffering ... are you? Let us know in the poll and the comments

Six months after Superstorm Sandy left its path of destruction along the Jersey Shore, polls in New Jersey showed that life in New Jersey had yet to return to normal , and many residents believed recovery will be a process that will take years.

Since April, the Jersey Shore has had a summer of rebuilt boardwalks that supported hundreds of thousands of tourists this year. Despite a a summer of declining business, many merchants were pleased to have a summer season at all.

While there was cause to celebrate, however, many still live without a home. Or if they have a home, they're still gutting through mold-ridden floorboards that were drenched by the Sandy floodwaters that rose from the bay and ocean.

Then, there are those Seaside Heights and Seaside Park businesses that were destroyed by a September fire. Many of those snack and game stands continued to suffer after Sandy even as so many other communities recovered.

What is your situation? Please let us know in the poll, and in the comments.
