Local Moving Company Recognized For Commitment to Helping Others

Classic Moving and Storage is being recognized for their commitment to feeding the hungry of Ocean County.

Toms River, NJ- Move For Hunger is proud to honor Classic Moving and Storage as the Mover of the Month for June 2012. Out of over 330 movers across 42 states, Classic Moving was awarded the honor for their consistent commitment to feeding the hungry in Ocean County.

This July, they collected over 850 lbs. from their customers to benefit the Ocean County Hunger Relief food bank. Upon making their monthly delivery, they were shocked to discover that the food bank was entirely out of food. The 650 meals provided by Classic’s delivery were the only thing standing between having a meal and going hungry for the clients of the food bank.

Since joining Move For Hunger in December of 2011, Classic Moving has consistently made deliveries to the food bank. In less than one year, they have delivered over 3,205 lbs. to the food bank, at no cost to the hunger-relief organization or their customers.

Move For Hunger is a non-profit organization that works with relocation companies across the country to fight hunger. When people move they often take the time to throw out a good deal of “stuff.”  Unfortunately, a lot of this “stuff” is food that could be delivered to a family in need rather than thrown away.
