Author Joe Bilby will discuss the lives of African-American New Jerseyans who fought in the Civil War. Wednesday, Jun. 20, 2:00 pm, at the Toms River branch of the Ocean County Library.

Local historian and author Joe Bilby will discuss the lives of African-American New Jerseyans who fought in the Civil War. Audience may purchase his book Freedom to All: New Jersey's African-American Civil War Soldiers. This supplements OCL's "Let's Talk About Making It: Making Sense of the American Civil War" reading and discussion series. Both programs are made possible through the National Endowment for the Humanities and the American Library Association.
