Pinelands Day at the Library, April 5th

Spanning seven counties, the New Jersey Pinelands is home to unique people, industries, plants and animals.  Join us in the family-friendly celebration on Saturday, April 5th from 11:00 – 3:00 p.m. at the Toms River Branch of the Ocean County Library.

Grammy-nominated musician and author, Paul E. Pedersen, Jr. will entertain us and sign copies of his latest book, The Legendary Pine Barrens: New Tales From Old Haunts.  Informational tables and exhibits by groups that work in the Pines as well as tours of the art in the galleries by the Pinelands Photography Group are slated for the day.  Presentations include workshops on native plants and bees, two children’s programs and the screening of a film about Dr. James Still, the black doctor of the Pines.  The day will end with a raffle of the many prizes donated by participating Pinelands groups.

This program is sponsored by the Pinelands Photography Group and the Friends of the Toms River branch of the Ocean County Library, who will be selling potted flowers and paperback books during the festivities.
