Meridian Health to Host Teddy Bear Clinic for Children and Families

Free, fun event scheduled for Saturday, October 19 at Ocean County Mall

Ocean Medical Center and Southern Ocean Medical Center are partnering with the Ocean County Mall to host a Teddy Bear Clinic on Saturday, October 19 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. It will be held in the center court of the mall, located in Toms River.

This free event provides a fun opportunity for children to meet nurses from the hospitals and dress their stuffed buddies’ boo-boos with first aid supplies. A nurse will also take the time to measure and weigh their stuffed friends, which will be recorded on certificates for each child to take home. 

Even if kids don’t have stuffed friends with them, they can still get cool colored arm casts and enjoy a visit from Meridian’s Pawsative Action Team. As a special treat, award-winning children’s recording artist Yosi will also perform live at the event.  

The Teddy Bear Clinic is being hosted along with the mall’s Kidgits Club. Kids can make cards and a craft for patients in the hospital. Kidgit members will receive pink pom-poms, a pink and white football, and a pink and white beach ball.

The Teddy Bear Clinic is free and registration is not required.
