Candle Light Vigil To Honor Infant Killed By Falling TV

The family's day care center is hosting the vigil

A candle light vigil will remember a who was killed Saturday by a falling television.

The event hopes to bring solace to the tragedy, where a two-year-old girl died after a television fell from atop a four-foot dresser at a home in the township.

The vigil is hosted by Young Explorers Childcare, which is the daycare center the child attended.

The ceremony begins at 6 p.m. Thursday Feb. 16 at the daycare center, 399 Dover Road in South Toms River.

The daycare center's staff is collecting donations to help the family pay for burial expenses, with 100 percent of all proceeds going directly to the family.

Donations will be collected at the vigil, but can also be dropped off or mailed to the daycare center, made out to the Young Explorers Donations can be mailed to the above address and made out to Young Explorers, 399 Dover Road, South Toms River, NJ 08757.

Just after 1 p.m. Saturday, Toms River Police responded to an emergency call of an injured child in the eastern section of the township, police said.
She was rushed to Community Medial Center hospital by Toms River Police EMS where she was pronounced.
