OCFSC Family Fun Activities for February

Toms River, NJ (February 6, 2014) –The Children’s Home Society of New Jersey’s Ocean County Family Success Center has lined up some free events that the whole family can enjoy together. Here’s what’s happening in February.

 

February 8, from 9:30 – 12:30pm all families affected by Hurricane Sandy are welcome to join our Sandy Wave Riders program, a psycho educational program for ages 7 – 9, in collaboration with Hope and Healing.

February 11, from 5:00 – 7:00pm enroll your child in the Sandy Wave Riders program, a psycho education program for ages 7 – 9 in collaboration with Hope and Healing.

Enjoy our Money Smart program in collaboration with PNC Bank at Church of the Harvest (2119 Whitesville Road, Toms River, NJ) from 6:00 – 7:00pm. Learn how to prevent financial exploitation, which is the improper use of your funds, property and assets.

February 18, from 6:30 – 7:30pm join Single Moms Unite, support groups for divorced mothers in the area run by life coach Patricia Caneda.

February 12, from 1:30 – 2:30pm we welcome moms, grandmothers and caregivers to de-stress at our Pampering Moms session.

February 20, from 10:00 – 11:00am learn conversational English with Resource Specialist Lydia Colon.

February 21, from 9:30 – 11:00am join Monmouth & Ocean CHADD’s Eva O’Malley for an educational group session on children and adults with ADD and ADHD. This group meets the third Friday of every month.

February 25, from 5:30 – 7:30pm is our Parent Advisory Committee monthly meeting. If you are interested in providing support to your local Family Success Center join us on the last Tuesday of every month.

That same night, from 6:30 – 8:00pm, learn how to Develop an Individual Emergency Planning with Measurable Goals, a workshop providing parents and professionals with strategies. This is in collaboration Statewide Parent Advocacy Network.

February 26, from 12:30 – 2:00pm join us for an information session about skin and hair care by CAPRI Institute.

About the Ocean County Family Success Center

The Ocean County Family Success Center is the third Family Success Center to be opened and managed by The Children’s Home Society of New Jersey.  State funding is provided through a competitive grant awarded by the New Jersey Department of Children and Families, Division of Prevention and Community Partnerships.

Hours of operation are Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. with some evening and weekend events.  A monthly calendar of events can be found online at www.chsofnj.org.  The Ocean County Family Success Center is located at 1433 Hooper Avenue, Suite 121, Toms River, New Jersey, 08753.
