Congratulations to Michel Baker, Ocean County YMCA Member, for being honored at the New Jersey YMCA State Alliance Annual Dinner. Michael was presented with the 2013 Youth Volunteer Award for his dedication to the Y’s work in youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Michael’s Eagle Scout Project a huge endeavor to help the environment and give back to the community was a tremendous success. The Conservation/Reclamation Basin has made a huge improvement to the entrance of our facility. Families can enjoy time together walking the trail, viewing plant life and looking to observe some unique birds and butterflies. The countless hours to organize this project, arranging volunteers and donations cannot be ignored. His individual efforts will have a positive impact on the lives of residents in Ocean County for years to come.
