"Congress took months to move, the federal flood maps used to guide the rebuilding were outdated, and rules intended to prevent fraud created a frustrating obstacle course of paperwork.
But don’t let the governor get away with this cop-out. The bulk of the screw-ups that have handicapped this effort are homemade, right here in Jersey. ...
...So when the governor told victims on Thursday that they will never be made whole, he was right. What he didn’t say is that he’s letting politics contaminate the process.
...Sorry, Governor. The buck on this one does not stop in Washington. It stops in Trenton, on your desk.
