JCP&L outage (1st of many this summer?)
Power outage 2pm July 4th in Silverton, Toms River. I was a good citizen, called JCP&L to report it... I was told there would be an $85 charge because I was the first to call, in case the problem was inside my house. "Are your neighbors without power?" I was asked. -- So beware, JCP&L customers: Don't report outages until you go door-to-door in your neighborhood first, or just sit there with no AC or lights until someone else dares to report the outage! -- I'm reporting this to the state BPU on Monday. It's an outrageous rip-off! I already checked my electric panel before calling, but why should I be threatened like that if I simply do what JCP&L advertises, report an outage? If they had a decent computer system, if they had a better-maintained power grid, they'd know when something goes down... but no, they threaten customers instead!
