My sister-in-law and hubby were on the way back from Ortley and it took them one hour when its usually a 20 min drive. She reported a dozen or so slip and sliders. Be careful out there if you need to venture out.

Wow @Deep throat we all know weather reports are never accurate and you're blaming the weather man? People should stay the hell home. That comment was very ignorant and stupid!!!

Too bad DPW can't salt or plow the streets for whatever reason.
Mortimer Snerd December 08, 2013 at 04:24 PM
The Public Works Dept. has its usual snow-removal system: 40-degree weather tomorrow. They're not "worth their salt!"

Amateur night in Ocean County. And it always seem to be the 4X4 tough guys. Watch out for them.
Linda Kenny December 08, 2013 at 05:59 PM
Why isn't the county plowing? All this slush is starting to freeze.

xJadeeyes . Yes I blame the weatherman when he predicts one thing and we get completely the other 2 hours later. They get paid to inform. I am far from ignorant
Cardinal December 08, 2013 at 06:54 PM
At 6 a.m. the sky just looked like something substantial was going to happen today, the air was cold and damp. It certainly wasn't the "snow showers" that they predicted.
Barbara December 08, 2013 at 08:26 PM
Remember , back in the good ol' days, we didn't need forecasts every 2 minutes. It would just happen!....now, the forecasters either predict nothing and it snows 8 inches, or they try to scare us with a massive storm and zippo.... Good day to just watch the games and stay off the roads. Be careful out there to all who are working to clear the roads.

Unfortunately, some idiots just don't get it: if you want to know what the weather is like outside, get off your lazy rear end and walk to your nearest window and take a look at what's happening outside~ it's not brain surgery!

Or, for further exploration on these topics, informative reading can be found on the recent NY Times best seller list. Well known and frequently published author Gino De Lionhearted (pen name) tops this week's list with: Craniotomy For Dummies and Meteorology~What Where and Why. Must reads for those who want to know.
