$5,000 Air Conditioner Theft Under Investigation

Toms River police also investigating other recent incidents

Toms River police are investigating the theft of two air conditioner units valued at $5,000 from a Fischer Boulevard commercial property, said Chief of Police Michael Mastronardy. 

The units were removed sometime during this week from the 644 Fischer Blvd. property, Mastronardy said.

Officer Dan Brennan and Chris Leighton are investigating the burglary of the Dean Dance Studio located at 621 Washington St., Mastronardy said.

The burglary is believed to have occurred between midnight and 8 a.m. on Wednesday, the chief said.

The owner of the studio reported that burglar forced the front door was open and entered the office where some checks were removed, Mastronardy said.

A burglar attempted to break into five Lewis Tree Service trucks parked in the JCP&L construction yard on Highland Parkway, Mastronardy said. 

A supervisor report Wednesday morning that the burglar was unsuccessful in attempting to pry open the compartment doors of the trucks, the chief said. Cpl. Robert O'Neill is investigating the attempted burglary.
