Police chief confirms robbery incident occurred after 2 p.m. at Ocean County Mall

Police are responding to a robbery incident at the Ocean County Mall just after 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, said Michael Mastronardy.

He said that at this time, the mall is open and there are no known injuries or threat to public safety.

The police chief did not have more specific details as to the scope of the robbery, the victim or suspect.

"The incident is still unfolding," Mastronardy said. The incident was in the vincinity of the at the , Hooper and Bay avenues.

However, the mall and its surrounding parking lots remain open.
