UPDATE: Alert: Traffic Lights On Route 37 In Manchester Back On

Traffic lights on Route 37 in Manchester are operational again, according to the Manchester Township Police Department.

Police issued an advisory earlier this morning that traffic lights on Route 37 were out in all directions, due to a power surge.

Motorists were asked to avoid the area and expect traffic delays, police said earlier.

When will the state BPU crack down on JCP&L? The utility sends its profits to corp. HQ in Ohio -- instead of reinvesting any money in adequate maintenance in NJ. Meanwhile, there were falling wires and traffic signal outages in Toms River this week, too. Summer's coming, and that always means more outages with JCP&L. After Sandy, utility workers from out-of-state complained about how antiquated and neglected JCP&L's system is. It's a joke. We have a third-world electric utility!

How about reporting on the light outage in TR yesterday? The "T" at Whitty and Old Freehold. Traffic light was stuck on red and people were darting in and out around each other through the light. I understand Manchester is near here and many TR folks drive through it, however this is the TR Patch. Does anyone listen to the emergency radios at the patch?
