Buckwald Drive Reopens, Allowing Traffic Between Hooper, Church Road

Today, a sigh of relief from those hoping to go from Church Road to Hooper Avenue (or vice versa).

reported yesterday the is scheduled to reopen today after a two-week closure for construction.

The was closed beginning Aug. 2. Construction closed the road to tend to water main work, as crews advance construction projects at Ocean County College.

Buckwald Drive connects Church Road to College Drive, the main entrance to Ocean County College. The road closure essentially created a no-through traffic situation for the college campus, whereas normally traffic could go from Hooper to Church Road, as a short cut of sorts. The College Drive entrance was open but all traffic had to exit from that roadway as well.

The impact to campus activities were minimal as the has yet to begin for the community college.
