Church Road Reopens After Truck Hits Pole

Church Road between Silverton Rd and North Bay Avenue in Toms River has reopened following a morning accident, police said.

The incident occurred at 8:24 Friday morning when a west bound tractor trailer made a left turn into the township's record storage facility that is under construction.

The service wires between two utility poles were hanging lower than the standard height.  The truck struck the overhead wires which then caused them, as well as two telephone poles to become damaged.

JCP&L will use this "accident" (caused by their low-hanging wires) to raise our electric rates some more!

Those were fairly new poles as well since they just installed them within the past year(widening Church Road around North Bay Avenue). Somebody "done goofed up".
