Car Fire Reported on Old Freehold Road

Pleasant Plains Fire Co. responds to Monday afternoon incident

Firefighters responded to a car fire that closed a portion of West Todd Road Monday afternoon.

Toms River Police Chief Michael Mastronardy said that at 2:30 Monday afternoon, Rosemarie Paris, 51 of Lakewood was driving south on Old Freehold Road when she realized smoke was coming from her 2007 Toyota. 

“When she pulled off into West Todd Road the car became fully involved in fire,” Mastronardy said.

Pleasant Plains Fire Company responded to extinguish the vehicle fire. Toms River Police Officer Jen Grob investigated.
