Police also reported that 21 batteries were stolen from a vehicle storage yard

Police are investigating an early Friday morning burglary in Chadwick Beach, during which cash, sunglasses and two phones were taken.

Ay 3:30 a.m., 50-year-old woman heard noises downstairs of her Pacific Way home and discovered someone had entered her home through the garage. Officers Al DellaBella and Ron Bayer responded, said Toms River Chief of Police Michael Mastronardy.

The burglar took $25 in cash, a pair of black Ray-Ban sunglasses and a silver Samsung flip phone. An Apple iPhone also was stolen but police recovered it a block away on Ocean Road and returned to the victim, the chief said.

The batteries are reportedly worth more than $2,500 and were removed from the vehicles parked in a fence in area after the thief cut a padlock on the cut, according to the chief.
