Coast Guard Rescues Two Children Stranded In Marsh Near Oyster Creek

The boys were reported to be in good health

The Coast Guard medevaced two children, ages 11 and 13, who were stranded in a marsh near the Oyster Creek Saturday.

The children’s father contacted the Coast Guard Air Station Atlantic City at about 8:20 p.m. to report the children being in distress. He explained he had been fishing with his two sons before they departed the boat and became stranded after the tide went out.

An MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew arrived on scene at about 9 p.m., hoisted the boys from the marsh and transported them to the Coast Guard air station.
