Cocaine, Cash Seized in Toms River, Lakewood Bust

A Toms River man is among a pair of Ocean County residents who were charged Wednesday with possessing and dealing drugs in the region.

Julius Tubbs of Toms River and Dandre Tubbs of Lakewood were arrested after a multi-agency investigation turned up cocaine, marijuana, oxycodone and thousands in cash.

Lakewood and Toms River police joined detectives from the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office Special Operations Group in executing search warrants Wednesday on Julius Tubbs' Lakewood Road apartment in Toms River as well as Dandre Tubbs' Mulford Street home in Lakewood. Authorities also searched both Tubbs' vehicles: a 2002 Mercedes SUV and a 2000 Mercedes sedan.

Police said both residences and vehicles were being used to further drug distribution at the direction of Julius Tubbs.

Approximately two ounces of cocaine, drug paraphernalia and $14,000 in cash was seized Wednesday.

Julius Tubbs, 30, was charged with possession of cocaine over one-half ounce with intent to distribute, possession of cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Dandre Tubbs, 24, was charged with possession of oxycodone, possession of marijuana under 50 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Julius Tubbs had bail set by Superior Court Judge Ronald Hoffman at $200,000, with no 10 percent option. Dandre Tubbs was released on a summons.

Assisting in the investigation as well as the execution of the search warrants were members of the Toms River Police ESU, the Toms River Police K-9 Unit, Lakewood Police ESU and the Ocean County Sheriffs Department K-9 Unit.
