Dog Not Injured in One-Car Accident, Driver Charged with DUI

The accident occurred at Cox Cro Road and Massachusetts Avenue.

A 41-year-old Toms River man has been charged with driving under the influence after area police responded to a one-vehicle accident just after midnight Friday morning at Cox Cro Road and Massachusetts Avenue. 

Jeffery Carver, 41, of Comino Roble, Toms River was operating his 2005 Ford Truck westbound on Cox Cro Road when the vehicle left the roadway and struck a utility pole in front of the Toms River Police substation, police said. 

Carver and his dog, which was also in the car, were not injured in the crash.

Officer Pascale Gambardella, assisted by Manchester Officer Peter Manco, responded, and as a result of their investigation Carver was charged with with driving under the influence and reckless driving.
