UPDATE: Drugs, Including 549 Bags of Heroin, Seized From Two Brick Women

17th Avenue woman, 25, charged with intending to distribute drugs

The Brick Township police Drug Enforcement Unit conducted an investigation which led to the arrests of two township women who they say possessed a multitude of drugs.

The arrests of Brittany A. Cassanovas, 25, of 17th Avenue, and Amanda M. Louk, 20, of Sawmill Road, came after detectives were granted a court order to search a vehicle which contained 549 bags of heroin, approximately 12 grams of crack cocaine, prescription narcotics, a scale, and $1,875 in U.S. currency, according to Sgt. Henry Drew.

Cassanovas was transported to Brick Police headquarters where she was charged with two counts of drug possession with intent to distribute, possession of drugs and possesion of drug paraphernalia. She processed and released on a criminal summons with a pending court date, Drew said.

Louk was charged with possession of drugs and possesion of drug paraphernalia, as well as hindering apprehension. She was then turned over to the custody of the Toms River Police Department on an outstanding warrant issued by the Toms River Municipal Court.

A photo of Cassanovas was not available.
