Elderly Man Injured in Accident at Adams and Coolidge in Toms River

Incident just before 9:30 a.m. Monday

Police confirmed one occupant of a car crash at Adams and Coolidge avenues in Toms River was transported to Jersey Shore Medical Center for injuries just before 9:30 a.m. July 2.

Toms River Police Chief Michael Mastronardy said an emergency response ensued at the intersection after a vehicle crash. The intersection was briefly closed but all roads are now open at 9:50 a.m., he said.

Mastronardy said one driver, an elderly male, was transported for his injuries to Jersey Shore Medical Center.

The name and town of the individual was not released.

Further details on what caused the accident were not available as police continue to investigate the two-car crash.

A pick-up truck and a sedan collided at the intersection, where East Dover Fire, Toms River Police, EMS and Ocean County Sheriff’s Department officers responded.

The intersection of Coolidge and Adams has stop signs on the Adams traffic, one short block from the Route 37 traffic light on the two-lane roadways.

Toms River Traffic Safety Officer Paul Worth is investigating along with the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department.
