UPDATE: Jet Ski Collision in Toms River Claims Life

Brothers involved in crash, according to police

Two jet skis collided early Sunday evening north of the Route 37 bridge, leaving one person dead and another injured, according to state police.

Sgt. Adam Grossman, of the State Police Office of Public Information, told Patch the accident happened around 8 p.m.

Two men were taken to Community Medical Center in Toms River, with injuries. One male victim was pronounced dead at the hospital, and another left with minor injuries, Grossman said.

The victims were brothers in their 20s, Chief of Police Michael Mastronardy told NJ.com Sunday night. Their identities have not yet been released by authorities.

Scanner reports noted that one of the jet skis was found later in Brick, but Grossman said that, and the cause of the collision, is under investigation.
