Fire Causes 'Extensive' Damage to Holiday City Home

Crews responded to the blaze at 4 a.m. Tuesday

A Holiday City home received "extensive" damage in an early morning fire Tuesday, police said.

Crews from the Silverton and Pleasant Plains fire companies responded to the 2330 Yorktown Boulevard residence, which had recently been renovated and was vacant, at 4 a.m. Tuesday, said Toms River Chief of Police Michael Mastronardy.

Authorities were alerted to the blaze by a resident of the senior community who drove past and observed smoke, Mastronardy said.

The fire is under investigation by Toms River Police Department Officer Adam Adam Worth, Detective James Magovern and the township's Bureau of Fire Prevention, the chief said.
