Four Charged in Toms River Drug Bust

Raid the result of a month-long investigation by Ocean County Prosecutor's Office's Special Operations Group

Three Toms River residents and an Ocean Gate man have been charged in a "significant" drug distribution operation that landed them in the Ocean County Jail in Toms River.

Detectives from the Special Operations Group of the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office, armed with a search warrant, raided the Toms River home of Jeffrey T. Scriven, 32, on June 15, Capt. Jack Sramaty said.

Police seized 250 bags of heroin, 30 grams of cocaine, marijuana and $745 in cash, along with drug distribution paraphernalia, including a digital scale and packaging materials for controlled dangerous substances, Sramaty said.

"It's a substantial amount of drugs" he said. "It's a significant arrest for the area."

Scriven, 244 B Swan Boulevard, Donald Hudson, 34, Ocean Gate Avenue, Ocean Gate and Meghan Johnson, 30, Swam Boulevard, were all charged with possession of heroin with intent to distribute, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute;  possession of cocaine, heroin and marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, he said.

Ocean County Superior Court Judge Ronald E. Hoffman set Scriven's and Hudson's bails at $150,000, with no 10 percent option. Johnson's bail was set at $100,000, with no 10 percent option.

Also arrested was Jennifer Hendrixson, 40, Carlisle Drive, Toms River. She was charged with loitering in an attempt to obtain a controlled dangerous substance. She was released on a summons.

The Toms River Police Emergency Services Unit, Toms River Police K-9 Unit and the Toms River Police Street Crimes Unit assisted in the probe and the execution of the search warrant.
