Free Child Car Seat Safety Check in Toms River Wednesday

Wondering how safe your child's car seat is?

On Wednesday, the Toms River Police Department along with the Safe and Secure Foundation will be hosting their biweekly Child Safety Seat check at Silverton Firehouse on Kettle Creek Road, just off Hooper Avenue.

The event will run from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. and no appointment is necessary, said Ralph Stocco, police spokesman.

Certified Technicians will check your child seat installation, answer questions and even help you install your child's safety seat.

Events are held the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month at the fire house.

Nationally, statistics show, eight out of every 10 child safety seats are installed or used incorrectly.
