Gas Leak Clears Freeholder Meeting

Smell of natural gas was strong inside Ocean County Administration Building on Tuesday

A gas leak near the Ocean County Administration Building forced an evacuation of the structure Tuesday afternoon.

Gas could be smelled in the lobby area, just outside the meeting room as more than 30 people were evacuated. The incident occurred during the regular weekly meeting of the Ocean County Board of Chosen Freeholders.

Emergency personnel appeared on the premises, saying they didn't know the location of the leak.
