Other driver issued summons following Thursday evening crash

An Island Heights man was issued a traffic light violation summons after a collision at the Walmart entrance Thursday evening that sent another driver to the hospital.

Troy Simcsuk, 34, of Island Heights, was traveling eastbound on Route 37 when the 2002 Chevy he was driving collided with a 2009 Toyota crossing the highway at 5:30 p.m., said Chief of Police Michael Mastronardy.

The driver of the Toyota, 67-year-old John Emick of Holiday City, was transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune following the crash, according to the chief.
