Holiday City Silverton Sees Burglary, Attempted Break In

Toms River police investigating two incidents

Toms River Police are investigating a burglary and an attempted burglary in the Holiday City Silverton section of town.

In one case on Newport Place, police believe the burglary occurred between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Saturday. But in the second, an attempted burglary, police found a home was vacant and had an attempted break-in, on Mount Hood Lane. Both residences are in Holiday City Silverton.

Toms River Police Chief Michael Mastronardy said the Newport Place culdesac had a home burglarized Saturday before 5 p.m. The suspect, or suspects, forced open the side door of the one-story home and stuffed a pillow case from the home with $500 of jewelry, and left.
