A two-year-old girl has died after she was rushed to Community Medical Center Saturday afternoon, according to Michael Mastronardy.
Just after 1 p.m. Toms River police responded to an emergency call of an injured child in the eastern section of the township, police said.
Police officers learned that a large television fell from a three-to-four-foot dresser striking the toddler. She was rushed to the hospital by Toms River Police EMS where she was pronounced.

Lt. Michael Belcher and Detective Brian Lomer are investigating along with the Ocean County Prosecutors Office and the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department.

On Friday morning Toms River Police responded to a residence in the mobile home park off Route 70 at 7:30 a.m. for a CPR call.
The parents of an 8-week-old baby girl brought the infant into bed with them after the baby was feed at about 2 a.m.
When they awoke the parents realized the baby was not breathing. The baby was rushed to Kimball Medical Center in Lakewood by Toms River Police EMS where she was pronounced.
