Investigation into Car Theft Leads to Obstruction Arrest

Pair indicted on separate charges out of incident in Berkeley, Toms River

A pair from South Toms River are accused of obstructing an investigation of Berkeley Police as well as resisting Toms River Police. 

The pair were also separately charged with assaulting a police officer and stealing a car.

Joseph L. McCall, 25, and Lauren T. McCall, 30, both of Ardmore Avenue, South Toms River, are charged with obstructing an investigation by Berkeley Ptl. Robert Flanegan on Nov. 15 in Berkeley Township.

Joseph McCall is accused of resisting efforts by a Toms River officer to arrest him and with breaking into a car on the same day.

Lauren McCall is charged with an aggravated assault on Flanegan and resisting his attempt to arrest her.

An Ocean County grand jury handed up the charges on the McCalls recently.
