Former Beachwood resident held on $750,000 bail

A Beachwood man remains jailed on attempted murder charges for attempting to hire someone to kill his wife and daughter, according to the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office.

Philip B. Florio, 53, was indicted last week by an Ocean County grand jury on two counts of attempted murder and two counts of conspiracy to commit murder.

Ocean County Prosecutor Marlene Lynch Ford has said Florio asked other inmates at the  if they knew of someone who could kill his family members this past fall. The information was relayed to the Prosecutor's Office, which began an undercover investigation, Ford has said.
